Cycle RidesSaturday 6th JuneA Wander along the Wandle Trail10.30am Leisurely, 7.5km relaxed cycle
from Wandsworth to Morden Hall Park, following new SUSTRANS sign-posting.
Includes history about Wandle Mills along the way. Suitable for families
(no unaccompanied children). Start from King Georges Park at the Leisure
Centre. Ride with Sutton Cycling Club children’s cycling club9.45am Easy paced ride. Start at Waddon
Ponds, north end of Mill Lane, off Purley Way. Ride to Carshalton Ponds
(3.5 miles); welcome from the Mayor. 4 miles to Deen City Farm for picnic
lunch. Discover the sites of water mills on the Wandle by bike2pm Meet at Waddon Ponds, in Mill Lane
off the Purley Way. Tea at Honeywood Museum; visit sites of the Culvers
corn mill and the dye, oil, leather and gunpowder mills at Hackbridge. Guided cycle ride from source to mouth and back9.30am Start at Pollards Hill Library,
South Lodge Avenue, Mitcham. Ride to Waddon Ponds, join the trail, cycle
to lunch near the Thames at Wandsworth. Return via Merton Abbey Mills.
