Guided Cycle Ride from source to mouth and back

9.30am Start at Pollards Hill Library on South Lodge Avenue, Mitcham, to ride to Waddon Ponds and join the trail, and cycle to lunch near the Thames at Wandsworth. Return back via Merton Abbey Mills. Total distance 27 miles. With local leaders from Pollards Hill Cyclists. Leader: Mark 07711 688189.

Special Fun Cycle Ride for Families

9.50am for 10am Ride with Sutton Cycling Club/ De Ver Cycles club for children. Start at Waddon Ponds, north end of Mill Lane, off Purley Way. Ride to Carshalton Ponds (3.5 miles) for 'elevenses' and a welcome from the Mayor. Ride a further 3.5 miles to Morden Hall Park Rose Garden for lunch. Café nearby or bring a picnic. 10.30am Explore the industrial history of the Wandle in Croydon, Carshalton and Merton on this guided ride. Hear about mills which operated from the Middle Ages to the 20th Century, what they produced and the people who owned and operated them. Start at Waddon Ponds. Hear about the history of the Mills during the Middle Ages and 17th to 20th Centuries and the people who owned and operated them. Starts at The Causeway, Wandsworth.
