Morden Hall Park near the Snuff Mill

Visit the Snuff Mill

12 noon-4pm Visit the Snuff Mill and find out about early industry along the Wandle.

Honeywood Museum, Honeywood Walk, Carshalton

10am-5pm. Admission to the house is free this weekend.

  • Children, pretend you’re on ‘Time Team’ by digging up the past in our archaeology boxes. Take the archaeologist's challenge and piece together an object.
  • Painting by the ponds (weather permitting) using our table easels and art equipment.
  • Print a lovely picture using woodcut printing blocks.
  • Try your hand at weaving a mini basket from card and make a fab flower picture.
  • Brass rubbing and trails.
  • Tea rooms serving tea, coffee, cakes and soft drinks. Contact: 020 8770 4297

Mother Nature, Father Time exhibition of art from the Borough’s Museum Collection. Paintings and drawings looking at the landscape, people, and historic buildings of the area. Open until 6th July.

The Working Wandle: Hackbridge to Mill Green exhibition. Looking at houses and industries along this stretch of the river. Water mills, lavender distilleries, cotton and silk printing, and the world’s first public railway. There will be themed activities available for children. Open until 22nd June.

All Saints Church, Carshalton

9am-5pm Bell tower open, with bell ringing during the day. An organist will be playing at intervals; opportunities to visit the organ gallery. Tours, history talks and refreshments available. High Street, Carshalton. Contact: Christine Lindsay 020 8647 3000.

Carshalton House Water Tower

1pm-5pm The Water Tower is a unique Grade 2 listed early 18th century garden building sited in the grounds of Carshalton House. It contains a spectacular 18th Century bathroom with tile-lined plunge bath. West Street, Carshalton. Admission £1.00 adults, 25p children. Contact: Julia Gertz 020 8647 0984.

St Mary’s Church, Beddington - The Church in the Park

2pm-5pm See a Romano-British coffin, a William Morris organ screen, 15th Century choir stalls and a 17th Century pulpit. Church Road, Beddington. Contact: Ian Akehurst 020 8643 7948.

The Hidden Wandle

1-4pm Friends of Wandle Park will be holding a family fun day in Wandle Park. Have your Sunday lunch in the park and join our Teddy Bears' picnic, make a river flag and help us mark out the flow of the River Wandle through the park. Learn about the history of Wandle Park and its waters and celebrate the launch of the Friends of Wandle Park.
