St George’s Hospital Charity’s Sponsored Walk

9.30am from Wandsworth Town Station. A team from St George’s wend their way along the Wandle on a sponsored 11.4 mile walk, stopping for lunch at Morden Hall Park, then continuing to Wandle Park Tram Stop. Join the Ramblers for an easy pace walk

9.30am Suitable for everyone. Take the day to cover the length of the river: 11.4 miles. For a shorter walk, you can head either north or south from any of the points and at any of the times shown below. Stop for lunch at the Rose Garden, Morden Hall Park. Bring a picnic or eat at the café. Drinks provided.

A Wander along the Wandle Trail

10.30am Leisurely, 7.5km relaxed cycle from Wandsworth to Morden Hall Park, following new SUSTRANS sign-posting. Includes history about Wandle Mills along the way. Suitable for families (no unaccompanied children). Start from King Georges Park at the Leisure Centre.

Art Competition

In association with the Wandle Valley Festival and to celebrate local wildlife, Southside Shopping Centre are running an art competition for young people. We're inviting entrants to draw or paint their favourite wildlife - birds, fish, mammals, dragonflies, butterflies, plants or general scenes.

The competition is open to two age groups - 8 years and under and 9 to 15 years. Ten finalists will be chosen from each age group and these art pieces will be displayed in Southside Shopping Centre from Friday 19th June. Each finalist will receive a £10 Waterstone's voucher and the winner of each age group will receive a digital camera.

Entries can be posted to Southside Shopping Centre, Wandsworth, London SW18 4TF or handed in at Southside's management office. There will also be an opportunity to do the drawing or painting at the Wandle Valley Festival art activity in King George's Park on Sunday 7th June.

Entries must include the young person's name, age, school and home contact number on the reverse side.
