they offer. St George’s Hospital Charity’s Sponsored Walk9.30am from Wandsworth Town Station. A team from St George’s wend their way along the Wandle on a sponsored 11.4 mile walk, stopping for lunch at Morden Hall Park, then continuing to Wandle Park Tram Stop. All money raised will go to enhancing the environment at St George’s Hospital. All ages and abilities welcome! day to cover the length of the river: 11.4 miles. For a shorter walk,
you can head either north or south from any of the points and at any of
the times shown below. Stop for lunch at the Rose Garden, Morden Hall
Park. Bring a picnic or eat at the café. Drinks provided.
Cycle Ride: Exploring the Wandle Trail10.30am Relaxed, 5 mile guided cycle ride
starting from King George’s Park, following the signed route to
Morden Hall Park, passing Merton Abbey Mills and Deen City Farm. Cycle
treasure hunt for the kids in the afternoon at Morden Hall Park. Meet
at the Leisure Centre, Mapleton Road. Led by experienced SUSTRANS Rangers.
No unaccompanied children. Sunday 6th JuneWildlife walk along the Wandle in Wandsworth10.30am Walk north along the Wandle looking
at the wildlife that can be seen and assessing how the industrial heritage
has influenced how nature can use the river. Approximately 2 hours; 1.5
miles. Meet at the corner of Bodmin and Acuba Roads, SW18, off Merton
Road Valerie Selby, Biodiversity Officer. An Industrial Town – The Wandle Through Wandsworth2pm An introduction to the industrial history
and development of Wandsworth Town. Walking up to theThames, along the
Causeway to Armoury Way, ending at Wandsworth Museum on West Hill. Meet
at the corner of Mapleton Road and Garrett Lane SW18. In King George’s Park from 11am to 5pmPond Dipping in the Park11am-4pm A chance to discover the wildlife
living in and around the River Wandle. Burntwood Green Wandle GroupBurntwood students have been working with the Wandle Trust to help clean
up the River Wandle close to Burntwood School. Students will be on hand
